iterating through open forms

I have a VB6/Access app that has a log system where the user can enter & save data in logs.
Several logs can be opened at once from the app, and new logs created; the limit of log forms that can be open at once is 5.

If an existing log is opened for editing, I need to prevent another instance of it. The way I can tell which log record is being edited in any given instance of editLog.frm (the form's name) is by checking the form's editID variable. So far I have this:

...but no joy. Each time I open a log form, I open it As a New editLog. However, each open form in the app is NOT an instance of editLog. Is this the problem?

QUESTION: How do I correctly iterate though the open forms collection, identify whether a form with the editID variable matches what was selected from the existing logs list by the user? If the user selects a log from the list that is already being edited in another open window, I need to simply setFocus on that window instead of opening another instance of the same log's data.
