The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to add new rows between non blank rows (rows with data) using Visual Basic 6 0- Excel 2003

Asked by Jammerules in Visual Basic Programming, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

Hello experts,

Greetings! I am outta ideas to get a fix for my problem. Here is the deal. I have an excel file with the following data:

Server           L Size- Full      Shelf Name  Shelf Count   Index Name  Index Size
********            ************       **************  **************   *************   ************
wpsbs5pb      19.99 GB         Shelf0001     12233            Index0001       1.38 GB
                                                                                        Index0002        1.34 GB

wpsbd5pb      33.99 GB         Shelf0001     15533            Index0001       5.38 GB
                                             Shelf0002     12233            Index0003       1.38 GB

Now, programatically, I want to include two more rows for the shelf of the server "wpsbs5pb"...so that the worksheet looks like this:

Server           L Size- Full      Shelf Name  Shelf Count   Index Name  Index Size
********            ************       **************  **************   *************   ************
wpsbs5pb      19.99 GB         Shelf0001     12233            Index0001       1.38 GB
                                             Shelf0002     10003            Index0002        1.34 GB
                                             Shelf0003     12233

wpsbd5pb      33.99 GB         Shelf0001     15533            Index0001       5.38 GB
                                             Shelf0002     12233            Index0003       1.38 GB

Any ideas on how to do it?  More specifically, my logic first writes the following column data - Server,  L Size- Full,  Index Name, Index Size and then it tries to write Shelf Name and Shelf Size data. If at any place, it finds that there are more shelf count than index count (e.g., Shelf0001, shelf0002 and shelf0003 and only two indexes  - index0001, index0002) then eventually it is messing up the worksheet. any quick response is greatly appreciated. Oh btw, I tried xlsheet1.rows.insert shift:= xlDown but to no avail. Thanks!
