The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Setup Error in Visual Basic

Asked by JatinHemant in Visual Basic Programming, Microsoft Visual Basic.Net, InstallShield

Dear Friends,

I developed an Application in Visual Basic which help my organization to maintain student's and staff database and also in transcript generation.

Ms-Access has been used as back-end and Crystal Report 8.5 has been used for Report generation.

I am able to run this application successfully within the Visual Basic Development Environment using 'Play' button.

I can compile the overall application successfullly to get EXE file. Using 'Package and Deployment Wizard' I am even able to make a setup package.

But Problem arises when I use this installation package to install this software in user's computer.

I get following Error message while running setup -

"The file C: \DOCUME-. 1 \ADMINI 1 \LOCALS- 1\Temp\msFtqwspdA$(DLL5ellRegisterEx) could not be registered because it was not Found."

I don't understand when coding is compiled successfully without error and there was not any problem while preparing setup, why problem arise during installation ?

As an alternative solution, I am copying Application's EXE file, Database file, togetherwith installing Visual Basic and Crystal report, so that user can temporarily start use of the application. but  this application is to be installed in approximate 50 macines througout the university and I feel that this is not permanent solution.

Please help me to solve this problem.

Thanks.
