Send email using vb6.0 and winsock

I tried a lot of free codes on EE and other sites however i am unable to find something that really worked. What i want to do here is to send an email using SMTP authentication.

Could you please give me a code that will work?

p.s I am using the gmail smtp server to send the email ( Username and Password is required for smtp.gmail.com to work, so please dont give me some code which i am unable to provide user and password )

I am pretty sure that I have already sent e-mails to a secure SMTP server using http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.Asp?ID=109

I have used your examples - > vbSendMail.dll Version 3.65

and i get error msg

"The smtp host did not respond in time"

I did make sure all the settings was correct including the SMTP port which gmail.com use a different one in order to get it to work.

I have follow all instructions, settings by the letter and i still get that message, maybe is something wrong with my winsock windows file?

P.S How can i test my winsock if it works?

vbsendmail.dll DO NOT work with the gmail SMTP because it don't support SSL.
