Browse All TopicsI have an access database, and I want to build an interface for the database on Visual Basic Express 2008 express edition. When I add the datasource (my database), It should import all the queries. However, it does not import one of the important queries. Then when I go to the database explorer, I see my query is categorized as function rather than a query. So, I have a difficulty in using the query on my form. How can I solve this problem and use the query on the form.

You've included function calls in your query which aren't part of Jet's own VBA library.
(Only certain functions can be called from outside Access - where the expression service resolves them locally in Access which is running a different VBA dll than that which Jet instantiates alone).
The function I'm refering to is Nz.
In fact, this never stood a chance, because it's not a VBA function at all - it's a member of the Access Application object model.
You can substitute NZ calls with immediate if functions instead. Or just perform the calculations "late" (i.e. after querying) in the programming environment of your choice, in this case VB 2008.
Cheers.

What is the SQL for the query?
Also, can you show how you are importing the queries into your application.
