We migrated all PC from XP-Pro to Vista Business.
We have VB6 with SP6 and started working with the applications and had some weird error message at compile. For example:
Compile Error: Can't find project or library.
When viewing the line that this error occurs, its stops at a "Trim":

In conclusion we think there something missing in our VB6 if installed in Vista Business.
Any steps EE think we are missing?

My user is admin rights and I had UAC disabled from the beginning.
When you say "run IDE w/Administrator rights", what do u mean?
I'll followup on your recommendation and let u know. Attached are the Components and References incase of additional recommendations.

Ok, it seems to work.
I went into and open the VB apps, uncheck all components.references, saved the apps, open the apps again and re-checked all references/components (for components as "RetrieveGlobals", we browse and located them again) and finally saved the apps.
We have hundreds of apps in VB6 under XP box and will do the same sequence in the Vista box. Any other recommendations or considerations for us to follow?

VB6 is an obsolete language (it still works fine, for the time being)
If you have that many applications then consider start rewriting now in newer language (VB.Net, java,..) when you have to make big changes to one of them.
Minor changes can still be done in VB6, but do not start something new under VB6.

Dependencies in which existed in the project location when using XP are different locations on Vista.
Make sure you run IDE w/Administrator rights or you won't be able to add references correctly.
1) Vista w/UAC enabled you should run the IDE process(VB6.EXE) with administrator rights.
Right click the shortcut or go into properties of shortcut and check Always Run As Administraor.
a) You will need to disable all references. Save the project. Close IDE
b) Open project add all the references back. Save project. Close IDE.
Now this will fix the problem. However it depends what (References) you included some in which shipped with Windows XP OS are not shipped with the Vista operating system and must be manually installed.
