The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How can I read the body from a linked table

Asked by ellizz in Microsoft Access Database, Visual Basic Programming, dBase

Hi,
I have an online form that a user fills out.  On submitting this form a plain txt email is sent to outlook.  I have created a seperate folder for these messages in the inbox which I have linked a table in MS Access for.  So on updating the linked table get any new messages here.

However, the information I get from the linked table is not useful, I need the information from the body of the email to be put into a table in access.  I already have there forename and surname in the table so when I read the message I need to store it in the location that matches the forename and surname in the form.

The email looks like this:

Forename: Henry
Surname: Wallis
Email: h.w@wallis.com
Phone_Number: 555 675 3533
Date_1: 23rd oct 08
Time_1: 12:00pm
Date_2: 27th Oct 08
Time_2: 14:00pm

So, I have the table in access called information which already has Forename, Surname, Email, Phone_Number, Date_1, Time_1, Date_2, Date_2
In this table the forename and surname are already filled out as have there names already.

Can anyone help me how to do this, have attempted to code it already but; with no success, my vb skills etc are useless so really struggling to know how to do thisStart Free Trial
