Word Document with VBA programming - loses all coding when emailed

I am wondering if anyone has an idea of what be going on.

I have some word documents that have vba coding associated with command buttons for my workplace. The problem we are running into is, whenever the documents are emailed to another person (using Microsoft Outlook), when the document is opened from the email, all the functionality/programming is completely gone.

Any ideas on what might be happening?
