The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Dynamically filling dropdown lists with VBA in MS Excel 2000

Asked by dirku in VB Controls

Tags: excel, vba

I have an Excel application containing a worksheet for each quarter of the year.
Each worksheet has an identical structure and I want to dynamically fill these worksheets
with dropdown lists. Each of theses dropdown lists shall have the same content which is
placed within a further worksheet.
The content of the dropdown lists shall be the name of members of a club.
The member data placed in the fifth worksheet are as follows (each as a separate column):

Lastname
Firstname
phone (home)
phone (work)

Is there a way to insert the dropdown lists into th eworksheets programmatically at runtime
or do I have to do this manually for each row?
The worksheets for eacht quarter of the year have as much rows as there are weekends in the
quarter. For each row there should be such a dropdown list to be able to choose a club member.
Furthermore, after selecting the member the appropriate phone number(s) should be
programmatically set in the corresponding columns in the same row. (I just want to choose
the member and the phone numbers will be set automatically.)
It would be great if the user could see sth. like this when selecting a row on the dropdown list:
<lastname>, <firstname> | phone(home) | phone(work)
but after selecting the member just <lastname>, <firstname> should be visible.

Thank you in advance.
