SendKeys to wrong control

I am trying to use the browser control in VB6 to access three pages on the Net. For some reason SendKeys will often send to the wrong control on the form, not webbrowser1.
I have tried using if ActiveControl <> WebBrowser1 Then WebBrowser1.SetFocus but that doesnt help.

How can I assure that the SendKeys sends the data stream to the browser?

The purpose of this is to get information from our vendors site for multiple parts. So I login, send a part number, parse the resulting data page to get some information, go back to the home page and repeat for each part I need.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I have wasted days on this problem trying many solutions.
