The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Microsoft, Word / Office, 2003, VBA Userform - Template not opening as a template due to Word being open

Asked by emilysam in VB Controls, Visual Basic Programming, Microsoft Word

This is a follow-up question to: ID: 23544575: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Languages/Visual_Basic/VB_Controls/Q_23544575.html.  I think I may have closed that one prematurely. But anyways...

Background: I have a word document (.doc or .dot) that opens with a userform that has 3 radio button options.  Upon clicking the submit button, one of three templates (.dot) opens based upon the choice, showing the secondary template with a second userform.  After the second user form is completed and the OK button is clicked, the secondary template is created and the original document with userform closes.

Problem: When the secondary word template opens, that template opens as a document with the template's true filename and file location and not a generic template file name like "Document 1" as Word templates should.  I believe this happens because MS Word is currently active/open when the secondary template is opened.

Question: How can one force the secondary template open as a true template (with a generic filename like "Document 1" even with MS Word active)?  Or if that is impossible is there a way for the secondary template to open with a forced new filename of my choosing like "New Template".
