The Solution Rating System

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. What would cause two programs using two com ports using the same data to lock up or miss data?

I have a vb application that gets its data from a com port. This application works well. I have another application, that also works well, when run by itself. However, when I take the com port data and split it and try to run both applications at the same time thru two differant com ports I get missing data. One of the applications after some period of time stops working completely, while the other (vb app) ends up missing data. Could there be some sort of conlict with the com ports. Could it be cache size or some memory issue? The data coming in is run at 9600 baud rate and as far as the amount of information it is receiving, I have been told that it is not a lot of information.Start Free Trial
