Browse All TopicsWe want everyones homepage to be http://xyz.com so i set up a GP to do so. Problem is, people are OK with the 'enforced' homepage but they want other tabs in their browser to be set to their 'personal' home page. So, for example, when they launch IE 8 it comes up w/ first tab set to the enforced xyz.com but their 2nd tab in IE comes up to dilbert.com, 3rd tab comes up to google.com, etc...
Currently they are unable to set any homepages because "some settings are managed by your system Administrator" and the whole 'home page' section of the general tab of IE options is greyed out.
TIA

Unfortunately, the simple answer to your question is "No". Using the default Group Policies to prevent the user changing the home page, the user is locked to the home page you specify.
Control Panel Settings\Internet Settings which allows you to set a home page but have the user modify the settings. However, this is not enforced. It will be applied once; the user then has the capability to remove your default first tab. You could enforce it at each log on, but this would remove any custom home page tabs the user had added.
There is a Group Policy Preferences setting in User Configuration\Preferences\
Short answer, I'm afraid, is No.
