ADO LastModified property

Using ADO from ASP...
after adding to one table need to add to related tables..
I need the Primary key from the first table..(a counter)
ADO recordsets don't seem to have a lastModified property like RDO... how can I get the lastmodified record from a table.
the counter is Random so the Max(myCounter) does not work.
