The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How do I use a sub-orm in an unbound form in MS Access

Asked by john_paterson_kbc in VB Database Programming, Microsoft Access Database, Access Forms

Hi,
I am working towards migrating the back-end of a multi-user Microsoft Access 2003 application (forms reports queries etc currently in a front end mdb which links to tables in a shared back-end mdb residing on a server) to Microsoft SQL server but continue to use an MS access front-end.

In preparation prior to the migration I am trying to implement forms that will only query for the required data thus reducing network traffic. For example I have tried to implement an unbound events form (for viewing and editing) that contains an Active-X calendar object for date selection and a sub-form whose default view is datasheet view for displaying events on that date. The sub-form data source is a saved query which I change in vb. The form defaults to viewing todays data but can be changed via the calendar and a command button.

Can you help I am having two problems? The first is that most of the time (but not always) the on initial access with the correct data displayed the form locks with Calculating displayed on the status bar. The second one is that when the first issue doesnt occur I then get Object doesnt support this property or method on either the Me![frmEventReservationsSubform].Refresh and/or Me.Requery lines in Sub SelectButton_Click().Start Free Trial
