So far this has happened to 2 different users machines (both desktop and laptop). When I try to open an access database that is stored on a network or on the local machine, access stops responding. You can't close the program out, you can't stop the program in the task manager and if you log off it just says that it's logging off but never does anything (we've let it sit at the logging off screen for over an hour and a half just to see if it would resolve itself).
We just recently moved to a new fileserver that is using Windows 2008 server on it within the past week but so far out of 65+ users this has only happened to 2 people. It happened to 1 person yesterday, we wiped his machine completely and then reinstalled the OS and Office 2007 and everything seems to be working fine now with no issues. Then today it happened to another user, in both instances the user could not open access files on both their laptop and desktop. We've also tried moving the databases that they are using to their local desktop to run it to see if they were having a network issue but get the same results. We've copied over fresh copies of the databases to their personal directories (ones that everyone else in the company can open and work in with no problems) and they still couldn't open them.
Any ideas as to what this could be? I want to try to get this resolved so that either I can keep this from happening to someone else or so that I can figure out a better solution than to wipe out both laptop and desktop and start from scratch.
Also, I don't receive any error codes from access when I try to open it....it just starts to open the program and hangs and never responds again after that.
