Something like this?

Note: Not tested.

Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

WScript.Echo "Enter the date of the data: (DDMMYY)"
WScript.Echo "ie. If today was May 3rd 2008, and the data was"
WScript.Echo "from yesterday, then enter 020508"
pathname = Wscript.StdIn.ReadLine
WScript.Echo "Copying 571750 data"
objShell.Run("copy C:\Datalinkdata\CAS\571750\" & pathname & "n.DAT C:\bankline\C1" & pathname & ".txt"
WScript.Sleep(100)
WScript.Echo "copying TBURF84 data"
objShell.Run("copy C:\Datalinkdata\CARS\BURG80\" & pathname & "n.DAT C:\bankline\M1" & pathname & ".txt")
WScript.Echo "Copying complete!!!!"
WScript.Sleep(100)

so you just want the current data as date?

by: ItsaconPosted on 2008-04-08 at 05:15:54ID: 21304363

Ah. Since the previous one was a batch file I assumed a command line tool.

Try this then:

Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

Title = "Please enter date"
Message = "Enter the date of the data: (DDMMYY)" & vbCRLF
Message = Message & "ie. If today was May 3rd 2008, and the data was" & vbCRLF
Message = Message & "from yesterday, then enter 020508"
Do While X = 0
    pathname = InputBox(Message,Title)
    If pathname = "" Then
        Wscript.Echo "You must enter a date."
    Else
        Exit Do
    End If
Loop
WScript.Echo "Copying 571750 data"
objShell.Run("copy C:\Datalinkdata\CAS\571750\" & pathname & "n.DAT C:\bankline\C1" & pathname & ".txt"
WScript.Sleep(100)
WScript.Echo "copying TBURF84 data"
objShell.Run("copy C:\Datalinkdata\CARS\BURG80\" & pathname & "n.DAT C:\bankline\M1" & pathname & ".txt")
WScript.Echo "Copying complete!!!!"
WScript.Sleep(100)

Sorry for the delay, haven't had an opportunity to test until today.

I have combined the scripts from Itsacon and merowinger and have come up with a working solution, thank you both.
