Deleting files more than 24 hours old with Event Viewer log

Guys,
I am new to VBScript. I want a script a script that will delete files more than 24 hours old in a specific folder with the following criteria:
1) Write logs to Event Viewer with a message "x many files have been deleted from the y folder on z specified date".
