Store variable in a loop using sub

hi,

what I want to do is to create a serie of variable in a loop in order to save time and typing.
for example:

sub myloop()

for i =1 to 5
variable(i) = 7+i
next i

So in this simple example I would like vba to store 5 variable named variable1 (which is equal to 8, variable2 (=to 9), variable3 (=to 10),....

That's not possible to do! Besides, if this was possible, you still needed to define your variables, like

Dim variable1 as Integer
Dim variable2 as Integer
Dim variable3 as Integer
...


What you could do is to store the values inside an array.

It's the same. Variables can't have "dynamic" names...

Sub myloop()
Dim variable As Variant

ReDim variable(-1 To -1)
For i = 0 To 4
  ReDim Preserve variable(i)
  variable(i) = 7 + i
Next i

End Sub

If you know how many elements you have, just declare an array of that size:

sub myloop()
Dim variable(1 to 5)
for i = 1 to 5
variable(i) = 7 + i
next i
' and then to refer to them, use something like this:
for i = 1 to 5
magbox variable(i)
next i
                                              
1:
2:
3:
4:
5:
6:
7:
8:
9:

Rory showed you how to do it with an array...like I told you!

That's how you can do something like you showed us on your question. willow300 your code was almost right with the exception that you didn't define it as an array, like rory showed you.
