Delete duplicate rows in Excel

I have an Excel spreadsheet that contains 2 columns and a variable number of rows.  I need to delete rows that are duplicated (where both columns a & b of each row are identical).  

Secondly, I need to be able to delete every other row.

Does anyone know of a macro that will accomplish this?
