Can not browse or fetch email, but I can Ping - TCPIP problem

Zones: Internet Protocols, Windows XP Operating System, WInsock

I have two computers on a small network, running through the same switch and then a router (NETGEAR).

Suddenly one of the computers cannot browse, but I can PING.

If I run WinsockXPFix.exe and reboot the problem is solved, but only for some 10 minutes or so.

The same when I run 'netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" followed by ' netsh winsock reset catalog' and reboot, it works for some 10 minutes and then fails again.

I would really appreciate answers to this since I have tried to solve it through various tips from different forums on the internet.

PS I am not a Guru on this subject, I misunderstood this parameter, thought it would indicate what expertise is need to solve this question!!
