which language should I focus on?

I know a bit of C, and a bit of Java.  I want to focus in in a language and really learn it well.  I like Java, however it seems like recently it's on shaky ground in terms of long term support with competition from C# and the like.  And it doesn't seem reasonable to expect to develop sophisticated applications for a modern multi-platform work or home environment with C, or such a lower language.  So I guess my question is where is the programming world going, and which language should I focus on so I don't miss the bus?Start Free Trial
