Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Change color of the text box in html

Hi Experts,

     I have vaildated all the controls of HTML through Javascript and i have displayed a alert message box but i want to change the color of that control without displaying the error message.

    suggest me in this regard or give me some sample example for this.


the code which i have used is as follows:


HTML

<input name="orderid" id="orderid" type="text" value="" size="20" maxlength="20" onchange="chkerror()">

Script

function chkerror()
{
          var oid = form1.orderid.value;
          if(oid == "")
                    alert("Order Id not entered");
}


i want to change the color of this text box instead of giving an error message
