The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Feedback of the Community

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Detecting Audio Signals from Mic

I am working on a module where i need to know the incoming sound signal from the mic.
I need to know the frequency or the pitch at which the sound is being transfered through the mic
to give you an example, when we use mic configuration wizards in windows or say msn, it gives us a meter which goes up and down depending upon the input from the mic.
Kindly give me some sugestions
