On the form load event put:
vbbutton.enabled = false
Then on the click event of cancel and the click event of Add you can put
vbbutton.enabled = true
And that is that.

how to diable close button in vb6 form
I am wokring on a vb6 application.
in that i want when user is adding a new record using vb form then the at that time the close button should disable but it should be visible tilll user succesuly add a new record or cancel that .

You can check the conditions and cancel the closing of the form in the Unload() event of the form. Set the "cancel" parameter to True to cancel the closing of the form. Here is a basic example that requires something to be input into Text1 before the form can be closed.
