The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Feedback of the Community

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Dealing with different screen resolution in graphical applications

Here is one of the problems I am facing and need help in finding an approach to fix the issue.We have a graphical application where we can draw many kinds of shapes and load different kinds of images and save them as Drawings. We have two sets of co-ordinates, Logical and device co-ordinate based on which the process of drawing, saving and rendering differing kinds of images and shapes happen. In the application at present the Logical co-ordinate is considered to be same as the width and height of the client rectangle, which depends on the screen height and width, in other words the screen resolution. Any shapes that are drawn are mapped to Logical co-ordinates before they are saved in the database. In this scenario when we open a drawing that was created in 1280x1024 resolution in a different resolution say 800x 600, the saved shapes are retrieved (which are in Logical co-od w.r.t 1280x1024) and the Logical co-ordinates are converted to device co-ordinates . Here we  get a new set of co-points for the shape which are not inline with the earlier shape because we are mapping the saved co-ordinates based on the new set of logical co-ordinate we have now  (based on the client rectangle in 800x600 resolution). Similar problems arise even when we load images under different resolutions. We can see that the problem is because the logical co-ordinate depends on the screen size.
