The Solution Rating System

  • The Feedback of the Community

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. define global class index in borland C++

hello
i programming in borland C++ and in my main function, i have a class named lesson that have some char and int definitions and i define an 15 length array of my lesson class. then, by an function out of main function, i want to change the value of my  array of lesson class defined in main function. but since i defined lesson class array in my main function, that array is not defined for my function out of main function. i tested 'extern' command but error, error, error!! excuse me for my bad english ;)

main(){
void getdetial(int);

class lesson{
char name[20];
int unit;
char profname[20];
...
};

lesson gav[10]; // extern lesson gav[10]; didn't change anything!!

for(int i=0;i<10;i++)
getdetial(i);

} //main

void getdetial(int index){
cin>>gav[index].name;  // error occurs here: undentified symbol gav
cin>>gav[index].unit;
cin>>gav[index].profname;
...

}//getdetial

what should i do? please help me instantly, i'm waiting for u.
