The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Programming Script to combine tif batches to ONE PDF File and name that ONE PDF file as record number (see details)

OK, here goes.

I have about 10,000 tif files with filenames like: "dvf48483.tif , dvf48484.tif, dvf48498.tif, etc" (all in random) in a folder (Say C:\Charts)
Now there's a bunch of tif files that could be part of the same record, like the above 3 could be a part of record '17010916', and then there could be 12 other tif's that are part of another record and so on...

Now I have an excel CSV file (called output.csv) that has this info (i.e., what tif files go under which record number), like:

Col A                   Col B
                          17010916
@dvf48483.tif
@dvf48484.tif
@dvf48485.tif
@dvf48486.tif
@dvf48487.tif

                         17107409
@dvf48496.tif
@dvf48497.tif
@dvf48498.tif
@dvf48499.tif
@dvf48500.tif
@dvf48501.tif
@dvf48502.tif
@dvf48503.tif
@dvf48504.tif

and so on....

Here's what I want to be able to do (and something that's urgent)

I want to COMBINE all the tif files that represent their record number (from Col B) into ONE PDF file, and the filename of that PDF should be that particular record number.

So from the above example, the tif files from the first batch will combine together to form ONE PDF which will be called 17010916.PDF, and then the next batch will be combined to ONE PDF called 17107409.PDF, and so on... (Let's say all these PDFs can be stored in another directory like C:\Charts\PDF)

So experts, think there's a script that can do this? If so, can you tell me how I would apply it, what extension should I save it as, and exactly how I would run it?

Please assist.

Thanks.
