Extract sound from AVI - free software

I have an AVI file created on my digital camera.  I don't want the video, but just want the audio/sound in a nice format  - like a WAV or MP3 - either one is fine.

I am looking for free software that can do this - that is preferably easy to use.

Preferably it will make a reasonably sized audio file (i.e. something that could easily be used on a website).  The AVI is short - only a few minutes at most.

It is for a single video so it doesn't need to do batches or anything like that.  Since I recorded the video there should be no digital rights issues. :o)

Doing a Google search I saw these:

but don't know if they are good or not.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.
