I've been called out to a job last week where the user complained that any music playback on the machine sounded "like they were on helium". Sure enough, each time I play an MP3 or just tune into internet radio, the playback is definitely compressed and is proabably about 1 semitone higher(maybe 2) than what it should be.
I uninstalled/re-installed the sound drivers to no avail. I checked all the sound settings which seemed perfectly good. And now I'm lost as to what the problem is.
The machine in question is running Windows Vista Homa Basic.
Could anyone give me a clue. I need to go back to the customers house tomorrow and fix this!
