I need a digital to analog converter box. My situation is this: I'm trying to record, mix and playback MP3 recordings using my Dell 690 Workstation COUPLED to a standard relatively high end stereo system. Going out of my Sound Blaster external Audigy USB device into my McIntosh preamp is not working well. There is noise as soon as I connect the USB to either my hub or direct to the computer. The noise is being generated by my Planar 21" monitors. I can't but two new monitors. I am guessing that if I can use the Toslink out on my Sound Blaster Audigy and convert it to RCA outs the fiber will eliminate the noise I'm hearing. It is not 60 Hz hum but "computer random" type hard to describe noise. Does anyone know of a device that had fairly good quality to go from Toslink in to RCA stereo out? +/- 1 db would be ok. I just can find one that has specifications. Thanks in advance.
