I use Adobe Premiere. But for those who aren't willing (or can't get their employer :) to shell out $300+, there appear to be a few alternatives. While I can't personally recommend any of them, it can't hurt to try:

Or, while not free, there's MuVee AutoProducer (http://www.muvee.com/en/ ), which is less expensive than Premiere and looks like it has a very slick interface.
