I have purchased a HD camcorder and I am starting to acquire a lot of raw footage and I am wondering about some archiving software. I have two external USB hard drives that I would like to replicate the data on. I would like to have some type of software running on my Video editing PC that would replicate the data on two USB hard drives.
I have tried some software that allowed me to do that but when I moved or deleted the footage from my PC it removed it from my usb drives also. I would like to keep all footage no matter if I delete it from my video PC or not
Hi ronnier38930, I'm puzzled why this is happening>>I have tried some software that allowed me to do that but when I moved or deleted the footage from my PC it removed it from my usb drives << i admit i have not used a USB drive instead I use ide and have two slaved hard drives for this same reason and never have the these files folders videos ever been deleted if I deleted or removed something from C drive. Are you saving them correctly to C drive then copying these to the USB drives so they are stand alone not projects or some kind of temp for the host program you're using. Maybe we have different proceedures, can you upload the video from HD camcorder to a folder then copy that to your USB? If you're capturing to a program save the capture first then copy it?
