The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Video Editing Build

Asked by Stuudlee1x in Video Editing

I have been a member of this site for a few weeks now and really love the high quality technical advice. That being said, I have a proposed computer build I would like to pass by you all. This will be the most expensive build I have done yet and I am really nervous that I missed something. So without further ado....

Purpose - Video editing. Specifically Pinnical 11, nero 8, shrink 3.2, and Adobe CS3.

Components -
= Antec 900 computer case
= NVIDIA nForce 750i FTW SLI mobo
=  Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Yorkfield 2.66GHz
=  G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) [not sure whether to do 4 or 8          gigs.]
= 2 Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB in raid 0.
= Pioneer 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model DVR-115DBK
= OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W Power Supply
=  Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB
=  MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800 GT

Operating System - Im not sure whether to stay with xp or go Vista. And if vista, which of the myriad versions?

My current build is  based on the E6750, 2 raptor drives in raid 0 and  2 gigs of DDR2 800. I am hoping for a significant performance improvement with this new build. This is my first post so let me know if I missed any crucial information.Start Free Trial
