Make sure in your render options that you have rgb + alpha checked. That should do it.

Browse All TopicsHello, I have a video I've created in After Effects CS4. When I render the video the masks are ignored (i.e. completely removed) however, they're fine and in place when I do a ram preview... any ideas? Many thanks.

wheelsfalloffbandwagons,
Nope, that's it. You have to have the alpha checked. I'm not sure about the XviD part. Whenever I've used a matte I just exported to avi and checked that rgb + alpha box.
The first 4 or so times I forgot to check that box and sat through a half-day render only to find out it didn't work taught me a lesson!
The trackmatte is just a way to help you adjust the matting as your mask moves.

Right I've managed to get it looking okay when I export both alpha and RGB channels using XviD... still, it shouldn't be that way so any ideas?
