Video input would be over HDMI or Fireware from 1 to 2 cameras with the likelihood of picture in picture to capture the live clock.
Preferrably we would use Blackmagic Designs Intensity Pro for HDMI input/output. In a nutshell, the requirements are as follows:
" Be able to add overlay elements onto a live stream
" Input source video from firewire and HDMI capture card
" Handle stereo audio coming from the source input.
" Output through HDMI on a Blackmagic Card
" Support picture in picture
" Support realtime archival of video output with minimal compression to mp4 or avi
" Run on windows 7 x86 or x64
A quick breakdown of the video process:
Video input is captured by the camcorder and sent over the HDMI/Firewire output on the camera over to the edit station. The software takes in the video/audio from the primary blackmagic capture card and applies any overlay templates needed, the resulting output is archived to a video file locally while simultaneously being output through one of the HDMI ports on a blackmagic card. The HDMI ouput is then sent to an HDMI splitter to feed an hdtv(for output monitoring) and the second blackmagic card. The input from the second card is captured and then processed by windows media encoder to be sent out to the windows media streaming server for online viewing.
