Open Source Remote Monitoring Software

I'm looking for free or open source remote monitoring programs. 90 percent of computer that need to be monitored are on wireless. I dont need anything special, but being able to remote control the computers would be a big plus if possible. I would need to monitor at least 30 computers at any given time, and by monitor i mean seeing whats happening on their desktop. All monitoring would be done on a LAN. Something lime what apple remote desktop does for macs, but i need for PC. Is there anything out there you guys would recommend?

Thanks

Although i have not tried real vnc yet, will i be able to view lets say 5 desktops on my screen at the same time? Is this possible to do this with the free version?
Yes with MREMOTE.  (free)  Well not at the same time but in tabs :)
