I though that SSH and Putty might hold a solution but what is the content of cvswithplinkrsh.bat?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am implementing an automatic build system for a C# project. The build machine in a Window 2003 server. I am using CruiseControl.NET (CCNet) with CVS for the build system. Access to CVS is password protected. Currently I am embedding my password in the CCNet configuration file like this:
<sourcecontrol type='cvs'>
<executable>C:\Program Files\cvsnt\cvs.exe</execu
<cvsroot>:pserver;username
<module>MyProject/</module
<workingDirectory>C:\Devel
<autoGetSource>true</autoG
<cleanCopy>true</cleanCopy
</sourcecontrol>
I would like a more secure way of doing this. Could someone provide detailed instruction on how to accomplish this?
Thanks

The mode you are using, pserver, has the capability to localy store your authenticated password.
First login/authenticate to your server as the user doing the build by:
% cvs -d :pserver;username=MyUserNa
login
There is a file, .cvspass that is stored in your home directory that contains your cvs login information.
Now remove the password from you CVSROOT and all should work.

I know that you can use SSH with Putty, but I haven't gone down that route.
