Excel automation with VC++

I'm currently writting an application that needs to be able to export data to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. I've looked up and down through MSDN but havne't been able to find anything that is necessarily helpful. Bit's and pieces but there's to much junk to wade through. I've tried sifting through OLE automation and MFC but there's to much extraneous bull crap in order to see the minimum of what I need to do. All I'm looking to do is create a spreadsheet, shove data and headings into the various cells then save it. That's it...and I have yet to find a page on MSDN that shows that, and only that. So any pointers to web sites that contain this info, and isn't loaded down with other various bits of information, or sample code or anything would be greatly appreciated it. This is quite urgent but I dont have enough points to make it appear so. Appreciate your time and effort.
