The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Project : error PRJ0003 : Error spawning 'cmd.exe'  Microsoft Visual Studio 2005  C++  .net

I'm still getting  this error when I build my C++ program in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005  - Project : error PRJ0003 : Error spawning 'cmd.exe'  I have taken the steps in "Error spawning 'comd.exe' from VS 2005 pro C++" solution but it isn't working for me.  I am able to solve it temporarily by changing the  Embedded manifest to "no".  This works if I do it for each project.
I did the steps:
Goto Start --> Programs --> Microsoft Visual Studio .. -> Tools --> Visual Studio Command Prompt
Type "path > C:\path.txt" at the command prompt, and then "exit"
Goto Start --> Run and type "cmd.exe"
Type "path < C:\path.txt", and then "exit"

Then I did this:

open C:\path.txt in notepad
Copy everything.
Press Winkey (That exists between Ctrl and Alt) + Pause
Goto Advanced, Environment Variables
Select PATH and click Edit put the copied text, click OK. Do the same for the other list box too.

This is what I pasted into the Environmental Variables - User variables for PATH:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\BIN;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\PlatformSDK\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\bin;C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\VCPackages;PATH=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\BIN;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\PlatformSDK\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\bin;C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\VCPackages;PATH=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\BIN;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\PlatformSDK\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\bin;C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\VCPackages;PATH=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\BIN\x86_amd64;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\BIN;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\PlatformSDK\bin;C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\VCPackages;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\bin;;C:\php;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\AGL;C:\apache2triad\bin;C:\apache2triad\perl\bin;C:\apache2triad\php\bin;C:\apache2triad\mysql\bin;C:\apache2triad\opssl\bin;C:\apache2triad\p

I had to add a user variable for PATH but I edited the system variable with the above path.txt.

This still did not work.

I would appriceciate any suggestions.  Thanks.
