Which IDE is best? JBiulder, VisualAge, Forte or JDeveloper?
My company is about to embark on a project to write a very large scale application in Java and we're trying to pick the best development tool.
We've received evals for all the products I listed and we've played a bit with each but we are looking for professional users comments who have used two or more of these products and can point out clear advantages and disadvantages to each.
JDeveloper is listed here because we are considering Oracle as our DBMS.

JDeveloper is far from being a good IDE tool. Is nice but not productive.
If you will use Oracle DBMS you will need anyway a java driver for that which can be used with any IDE (even the windows notepad).

Any other comments from anyone before I close this question? Are there any commercial comparisons available?

Thanks for the link. It's a little outdated (copyright 1997 and mentions of VisualAge 2.0) but we may be able to find some useful tips.
