We are comparing Java development tools and would like as much input as possible considering many different tools with their pros and cons. I plan to spread the points around, so please feel free to give feedback.

I may be wrong though..

As I said...  it's a case of picking the one you like the feel of...

I would say to define what you are looking for.  Make your own list of basic requirements (most of them will meet the standard requirements.)  CVS, Debugger, logs, ect.

It's actually true ! , for me as a programmer it is better to use an open source and competitive IDE like " Eclipse ".
Why pay ? > When you can get one for free . . . :)

Okey;

It really comes up into conclusion that it depends on the person itself on whatever IDE he or she wants to use.
Anyways we already come up with different conclusions and recommendations on whatever set of IDE's there is for JAVA.

Its a matter of choice !, hope we gave you "GivenRandy" a good view on what it is for your question . :)

Eclipse + JBuilder + JCreator + So-on = The User's Choice :)

Hope " we " helped you !

Doing  a more in-depth analysis based on our needs, using 25% of time. About 70% JBuilder, 30% Eclipse, the remainder spread amongst the other contenders. But, things may change with further analysis.

> But given more time, Eclipse would probobly lift it self more in the future.

should be

"But given more time, Eclipse MAY lift it self more in the future."
That's True :)
We chose JBuilder. Its weighted score was 50% higher than the next two contenders, Eclipse and NetBeans, with IntelliJ close behind those. Thanks!
:) Sure, hope to help you again . . .
