System Development Methodology is process by which programmers approach complex problems in an organized fashion. Depending on the methodology you choose you have different advantages and disadvantages. Some advantages of applying System Development Methodology include uniformity, regularity, higher probability of sufficiently good product to claim success. Disadvantages might include the fact that it can sometimes hamper creativity, has a tendancy to be more predictive than adaptive, and can force simple projects to take more time than necessary.
