Browse All TopicsHi, I am working with a group of software developers and consultants that are using the Agile process for a project that I am providing domain expertise for. The user testing conducted at the end of the sixth sprint/iteration in the project was almost a complete failure.
What is the correct next step in the Agile process when user testing at the end of a sprint fails? I did some Googling for an answer, but I could not find any guidance for this type of situation. All of the Agile literature I reviewed does not acknowledge what to do next when there is major failure at this point in a project.
Should I (representing the users/testers) ask for the sprint 6 test to be redone after the developers fix the errors or do we let the project continue ahead to the next scheduled iteration (#7) without confirmation of the things planned Sprint 6 working correctly?

In my humble opinion a sprint session can only be closed when the user accepts the current implementation. In the case of the indicated near-complete failure the programmers should most definately focus on first and foremost solving the errors.
Even when the next sprint is going to take care of issues that are in no way related to the not functional parts of the program, I think it is best to first take care of the present errors.
After all, using agile means focussing on a happy customer !
PS> Organise a retrospective meeting in order to talk about not getting into this situation in the future.
