One of themain tools is ArgoUML

There are many tools but this is one of the best opensource.

You can find documentation on this on the web site above.

Hi,

If you are starting to learn UML then you should get a book. UML Distilled or UML is a Nutshell which is more of a reference but good all the same.

ArgoUML is the best opensource (free) UML tool.  MagicDraw is the best commercial tool.
For references, Applying UML and Patterns by Larman and UML Distilled by Fowler are the best books.
