For a pert chart question that I have to complete I have a precedence table that has difficult dependencies at the end of the table i.e.

I have to draw a pert chart for the precedence table shown above although im not sure how the last part of the chart should look i.e. a pert chart has to have one start and end event - g and h depend on e and f therefore there will be two end events.
How should I use a dummy activity to correct this - please describe what the end of this pert chart should look like.

I tried to do this in MS project 2007 athough when I went to the network diagram after specifying the predecessors and activities it was nothing like what ive been taught.
Would it be possible to upload the diagrams i.e. what i think it should be, what project thinks and the table.
That way we might be able to figure out what the last bit of the PERT chart/network diagram should look like (project calls them network diagrams).

You are correct, from the data provided, you will have two end tasks.
In terms of real world, that's ok, and possible, but if you want to make your pert chart conform to convention/riules, you should probably be adding a dummy task.

That means that your 'project' would complete (activity i) after BOTH g and h had completed. (not easy to draw in non fixed font ascii, but here goes)

Put your tasks in the MS Project and set the predecessors accoringly and you should be getting on the fly results.........
