OWA images not loading?

I recreated my virtual directory to fix another issue and now the graphics are not loading in OWA. I have searched the web and this site for similar issues and tried all recommended solutions with no success. Can someone help me?

You'll need to reset the permissions for your IIS.  It's been a couple years since our Exchange did the same thing so I'm going to have to dig for a while.

Check your c:\program files\exchsrvr\exchweb permissions.  Authenticated users should have Read access checked.(and nothing else).  Open IIS drill down into Web Sites, Default Web Site, Exchange.  Open Exchange properties, click Directory Security tab, Edit and verify that Integrated Windows Authentication and Basic Authentication are checked.  If they weren't, restart the IIS service by opening a command prompt and type "IISRESET".  This will reset your web site with the new settings.

Changed the permission on the authenticated users to read only. The IIS was correct. No change to the issue.

I posted another question related to not being able to see a local DC that is a GC could the issues be connected? All this started when we had to recreate the virtual directories.

Could be.  The images not loading are due to some sort of permissions issue.  The fact that you are authenticating and getting a partial load of OWA (text without images) indicates you are authenticating to AD/Exchange correctly.  The lack of images means you IIS is hosed.  Have you run across this article and applied it:

I tried many things...but this is the solution that worked

the problem was a mis-sync between IIS's stored passwords for the IUSR_MAIL and IWAM_MAIL accounts compared to Active Directory.

I used adsutil.vbs to pull up what IIS *thought* the passwords should be, then changed them in ADU&C.
And it worked
