AS/400 Simulator for Windows product?
I've just got a job of programming RPG langauge on AS/400 platform. What is the most obstacle I've from getting my job is that I cannot pratice RPG programming on standalone PC. Since my company has policy not to allow employee, even programmer, to remotely connect to AS/400 in order to practice programming technique. That's why I asked this question.
1. Tell me where to find the product that can simulate AS/400 environment on Windows platform.
2. Such product must be capable of doing task as shown below.
2.1 work as if I have AS/400 on the same computer notebook I work.
2.2 has a client application that can do RPG editor task, to write PRG code, compile, and run to simulate output screen so that I can test my code on my standalone PC or notebook without real connection to AS/400 (which I cannot buy to my home).
2.3 has capabilities to write code to connect to database as task done on AS/400.
2.4 every task I can write code on real AS/400 environment must (or should be) be done the same way on my computer notebook installing the AS/400 Application simulator.
3. Price should be reasonable to afford. (I'm not rich programmer, try not to advice me to by 4000$ products which I cannot afford, please). The more price less, the more I need most.
