Browse All TopicsI have Motorola MC9090 (PDA) using Wavelink telnet. I connect to AS/400 with default settings. When I push function keys on the PDA the telnet client doesn't work as on a PC. It displays a kind of characters like VT escape sequences looks like.
Is there any escape sequences in AS/400 environment for function keys like VT emulation? If yes, what are the sequences for F2-F24 function keys?
Thanks.

First, consider loading some T5250 software, there is at least one option for your device. Everything is better, and it is much easier to get applications to behave and make users happy with TN5250 versus standard Telnet on the AS/400.
That said:
Assuming that your device can emulate a VTxxx terminal, once you are logged onto the AS/400, you can use the command
to display the current VTxxx to 5250 function mapping. You can only use the DSPVTMAP command from a VTxxx session.
Looking at the default mapping for F16, it is Esc-Dollar on my US-localized system, so you would hit Esc, then Shift-4 (that's where the dollar symbol is on my US keyboard).
You can control VTxxx key mapping using the CHGVTMAP or SETVTMAP commands.
