cant link tables in access 2003 to my AS400 machine

i cannot link tables in access 2003 to my AS400 machine, i used to be able to easily with access 97. but access 2003 just blocks everything.
I have tried changing sandbox Mode from 3 to 0 and even 1 but this doesn't seem to change anything
it stops with the usefull error message "Reserved error (-7756); there is no message" anyone have any clues?
could it be the ODBC driver not working with Access 2003?Start Free Trial
